  1. 15:305 min

    1. Introduction

We are learning to share successes and failures, and support each other, and to review our work together as a TLC group this year and how it has helped student learning.

  2. 15:355 min

    2. Starter activity

Refer back to the Ground rules for TLC and comment on whether you feel the group kept to these rules and/or whether any rule changes should have been made. 30 seconds per teacher; no teacher can ‘pass’.

  3. 15:4025 min

    3. Feedback

Feed back on the techniques you have attempted (and what you are doing less of) since the last meeting.

Refer to what you planned to do in your personal action plan at the last meeting; you will need ‘my personal action plan’.

Two minutes per teacher, with others actively listening.

  4. 16:0520 min

    4. Reviewing the year

Handout 1.9.1 End of year review: complete it individually, discuss in pairs and feed back to the group.

  5. 16:2515 min

    5. Personal action planning

Complete ‘my personal action plan’, choosing one or two techniques you are going to use before the end of the school year and what you will do less of. Share your plan with your partner, then listen to your partner’s plan.

Arrange for your partner to observe you using one of these techniques in a class and give you feedback, and agree when the observation will take place (it can be for a whole lesson or just for 20 minutes at the start, middle or end of a lesson). Use the peer lesson observation sheet; the teacher and the observer keep a copy each.

Two or three teachers share with the group what their partner is planning.

  6. 16:405 min

    6. Summary of learning

Share something you learned in this workshop.
